News Brief: U.S. FDA Head Makary Says Severity of FDA Layoff Overstated

He noted that there was consolidation in areas like HR, IT, communications and travel departments. He asserted that no science reviewer or inspector was released as part of the reduction in force, “contrary to some of the headlines that have been out there.”
