Award Winner (Service Appreciation Award) 2024: Morten Munk
Morten Munk
FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies
I find it extremely awarding, to receive such a recognition from colleagues and peers in the industry. PDA is able to foster and support a unique platform for connecting people in the industry, which allows all of us to learn and share knowledge with colleagues from many areas of the industry, including regulators, suppliers and end-users, and that is even some who might be your competitors. However, independent of your association with the industry, PDA offers a community where all people are open to interact and share their passion to make a difference for patients. Receiving an award for such a community can only make you proud and even more committed to working even harder to support all the great PDA initiatives.
Receiving a PDA award is noticed by a lot of people in the industry, not only PDA members. It is recognition of a considerable contribution to the industry and opens doors both internally and externally, increasing your impact on the daily work in your company and also influencing the industry to benefit patients in the whole world. Everyone who contributes to the work of PDA uses a lot of their spare time on different PDA activities. This is not possible without the acceptance and active support from employers as well as our families. Because of this, having your contribution recognized is such a precious award.
I have also received the honor of being elected to the PDA Board of Directors. This is an extremely huge honor and I look forward to offering my humble contribution to PDA and the industry in this new role. My professional goals continue to be supporting the development and production of safe and effective medical products in a sustainable way to benefit as many patients around the world as possible. One of the areas I want to focus on even more in the coming years is to act as a mentor and source of knowledge for young entrepreneurs who have dedicated their lives to making innovative and new treatments for people with medical needs.
I am inspired working to help patients to get safe and efficient medicine, and I feel it is a huge commitment to deserve the trust patients have in us as an industry to do our utmost to ensure that the products we develop will help them get well and not make them more ill. As part of this commitment, I’m also passionate about that we do our best to minimize the environmental impact we have on the planet in the process of making medicine; it makes good sense to prevent the planet from sickness due to pollution caused by making medicine. On a more daily basis, I get inspired by working and interacting with people who have a passion for doing their jobs as well as possible. Since I have a curious and scientific mindset, I always want to learn more and be with people who inspire and teach me.
