I am very proud to receive the Martin van Trieste Pharmaceutical Scientific Award from PDA. This organization has offered me great opportunities to learn and grow professionally in expertise, leadership and networking. Being honored with the Martin van Trieste award is very special to me. I had the chance to meet and talk with Martin in person at PDA’s Quality Week about QRM in 2019. I was impressed by his personality and patient-centric thinking. I owe PDA a significant part of my professional advancement and I am thankful for the opportunity to serve PDA members. It’s made all the better being awarded for what is important to me and is truly engaging and joyful work. 
Due to my engagement in member and leadership roles at PDA, I have learned and grown in skills, capabilities and knowledge. Receiving this honour will significantly enhance my work and role in the industry by providing me greater visibility and continued credibility within the professional community. I hope it will open up new opportunities for collaboration and networking with other industry leaders and experts, allowing me to share knowledge and best practices and drive improvement. Additionally, this recognition will reinforce my commitment to continuous learning and striving for high standards in my work at PDA and BMS.
I believe recognition is of high significance and really critical, sharing best practices, overcoming challenges and knowledge for scientific advancement among companies to serve our patients. Industry recognition can enhance reputation, credibility, career and business opportunities.
I am passionate about leadership, building great diverse and strong teams with a purpose and collaborative matrix leadership. I am equally passionate about robust, efficient and simple QMS processes for data driven and risk informed decision-making. And last but not least, I am passionate about the power of Quality Risk Management to focus on what matters.

About Eva M. Urban

Eva M. Urban is Senior Director Risk Management at Bristol Myers Squib and leads the Risk Management team in Corporate Quality. In this role she is responsible for the Quality Risk Management and GXP Business Continuity Planning program enterprise wide.

Eva has over 30 years’ experience in Biopharma (Lonza, Celgene, CSL, BMS) in a wide range of roles in R&D, Operations, Operational Excellence, and Quality Unit. She leads across organizational and multi-cultural boundaries. Her teams have successfully implemented globally (US, EU, APAC) robust standardized processes such as Quality Risk Management, Regulatory Intelligence, Internal Auditing, Quality Management Review, Inspection Management, Quality Planning, Quality Metrics.

Eva holds a MSc in Biology from University of Kaiserslautern, Germany.
