Program Highlights

PDA proudly presents this new training course kindly supported by Merck!

Note In response to considerable demand, all participants will now be given access to electronic course notes, which may be printed once for use during the course approximately 1-2 weeks in advance. Hard copies of course notes will be no longer provided to participants.

The field of gene therapy is continuing to evolve at a rapid speed and understanding the basics of viral vector manufacturing is vital to staying competitive and possibly a differentiating factor in the journey to commercialization.

Leveraging our vast experience in viral vectors, we have custom designed this course to cater to the numerous partners involved in technical and management teams of Process Development across the gene therapy space and the many others who seek to enter this space.

In this course you will get a thorough overview of end-to-end bioprocessing of viral vectors starting with basic science through upstream PD, downstream PD, analytics, tech transfer and single use facility considerations.

  • Understand the background and trends in gene therapy.
  • Technical considerations and strategies for Process Development (Upstream and Downstream) of viral vectors such as AAV and Lentivirus
  • Overview of analytics and tech transfer for gene therapies
