Overview

This training course will provide a basic understanding of the automated visual inspection (AVI) process and technology. Participants will learn how the capability of AVI process is dependent on the equipment, development and validation processes, as well as discuss the advantages and disadvantages of AVI technology. During this training course, participants will evaluate validation strategies to determine which approach to use under given circumstances. A case study will also be discussed.

This training course is an excellent opportunity to discuss questions that you have and to interact with others who are facing and overcoming the same inspection issues.

Andrea holds a degree in Physics from Padua University and a Master's in Nuclear Engineering.

As a researcher at the National Research Council (C.N.R.), he developed several optoelectronic and nuclear scientific instruments for Magnetically Controlled Fusion Research. He also set up international collaborations with UWA Madison (USA) and Garchin IPP (DE).

After ten years of activity in research, he moved to the industrial sector to develop optical and vision controls for industrial application as CEO of a small-medium company. This experience drove him into the pharmaceutical field, where he started to develop several control applications with vision and spectroscopy tools.

He then joined a leading company as R&D Manager, for which he developed an innovative inspection technology for the inspection machines.

Since 2008 he has been with Stevanato Group first as Pharma Inspection Product Development Manager. Here, he works to develop new automation and inspection products dedicated to the pharmaceutical customers of the Group.

How to Get Here

By Air

Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) is approximately 12 miles (20km) from the hotel and all major carriers service this airport. Taxi fares from BWI are approximately $35 one way, not including tip, and will take about 20 minutes.

By Car

Hyatt Regency Baltimore Inner Harbor is located at 300 Light Street, Baltimore, MD 21202. Both valet and self-parking are available.

Other Options

Hyatt Regency Baltimore Inner Harbor is conveniently located only four blocks from the Metro subway system and only three blocks from the Lightrail. BUS-MTA picks up right outside the hotel, making it easy to explore the area.
