PDA Capital Area Chapter: Q4 Meeting

Join the PDA Capital Area Chapter for our Q4 Quarterly Meeting on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, hosted at PQE in Rockville. This free event brings together students, early career professionals, and industry experts for an evening of learning, networking, and professional growth. Food and beverages will be provided, catered by CAVA.

Our featured speaker is Dr. Djikolngar (Djik) Maouyo, Founder and President of PyroDex LLC. Dr. Maouyo is a global expert in pyrogen detection and a leading voice in Monocyte Activation Test science. His talk, "Transitioning from Bacterial Endotoxin Test to Monocyte Activation Test," explores the scientific and regulatory drivers that are shaping the future of pyrogen testing. Attendees will learn how the MAT provides a human relevant model for detecting contaminants that cause fever, sepsis, and other severe reactions, and why MAT adoption is expected to rise as FDA policies shift toward alternatives to animal based testing.

The program includes time for networking, a chapter update, and a Q&A session with Dr. Maouyo. Guests will also be able to meet chapter leaders, learn about PDA membership benefits, and connect with the PDA Global Pharmaceutical Network. Student membership is free, and visitors are welcome, so bring colleagues, classmates, and friends who are interested in pharmaceutical science or professional development.

The venue is a short two-minute walk from the Twinbrook Metro Station on the Red Line. Parking is available via the Chapman Avenue garage entrance for a small fee, with additional street and lot parking nearby.
