Zachary Bendiks, Ph.D. isa Senior Scientist at Meissner corporation in Camarillo, CA. Since joining Meissner in 2022, Dr. Bendiks has overseen the development and continued operations of Meissner's pilot cell culture and viral testing labs, and provides technical reviews for all filter validation studies performed by Meissner technical Services. These studies are crucial for ensuring that sterilizing grade filters are compatible with pharmaceutical products and/or bioprocessing solutions. Previously, he co-founded a startup which developed persistent, antimicrobial surface coatings for use in the food and healthcare sectors and oversaw all microbiology lab operations. Dr. Bendiks completed his Ph.D. in Microbiology with a Designated Emphasis in Biotechnology from the University of California, Davis and his dissertation focused on how dietary components, particularly type II resistant starch, impact mammalian gut microbiome structure and function.
