Yvan Garnier PhD SGD PHARMA

Yvan Garnier is Senior R&D Project Leader at SGD Pharma. He holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Toulouse. He began his career as an R&D Engineer at Vibrantz Technologies (formerly Ferro Corp.), where he spent eight years developing glass frit and enamel formulations for hollow glass applications. He then joined 3M France for two years as a Product & Process Engineer, specializing in the industrialization of hollow glass microspheres. Following this experience, Yvan moved to Arc France in the tableware industry. Over more than 11 years, he led the development of new technical glasses and optimized glass compositions across a wide range of products, including transparent and colored soda-lime glass, opal glass, and glass-ceramics. Since 2020, he has been part of SGD Pharma’s R&D and Innovation team, working in the field of primary pharmaceutical glass packaging. He has contributed to the development of an innovative molded glass vial range, the optimization of Type I glass compositions, and the creation of new ready-to-use molded glass packaging solutions.
