Tracy Ryan NKore BioTherapeutics
Tracy Ryan NKore BioTherapeutics Co-Founder and Chief Communications Officer
Tracy Ryan is an award-winning entrepreneur and the Co-Founder and Chief Communications Officer of NKore BioTherapeutics, a biotech company advancing next-generation, off-the-shelf natural killer (NK) cell immunotherapies for cancer treatment. With over 27 years of experience in brand building, capital raising, and pioneering research initiatives, Tracy brings both business expertise and deeply personal passion to her work in immunotherapy. That passion was born out of urgent necessity. Tracy’s daughter, Sophie, was diagnosed with a low-grade but relentless brain tumor at just 8½ months old. Despite enduring seven years of chemotherapy, 11 surgeries (including five brain surgeries), more than 75 MRIs, and a range of disabilities, the tumor continued to grow. Refusing to accept limited treatment options, Tracy began researching innovative therapies—ultimately discovering the work of UCLA’s Dr. Anahid Jewett, a global leader in NK cell science.
Dr. Jewett’s research revealed that Sophie lacked functional NK cells in her brain—cells that play a critical role in controlling tumor growth. This insight led to the founding of NKore BioTherapeutics and the development of a supercharged, allogeneic NK cell therapy designed to overcome immune suppression and target cancer at its root.
In 2023, Sophie became the first child in the world to receive NKore’s therapy. After just two infusions, her tumor began to break down. She experienced no negative side effects and showed neurological improvements, increased energy, and the best health of her life.
Today, Tracy and Sophie often speak together to share their journey—not only as mother and daughter, but as patient and advocate, as innovator and inspiration. Their story is one of hope, science, and transformation, told with authenticity and backed by real data.
Tracy is also a recognized voice in pediatric cancer advocacy. She has been a frequent guest at the White House, speaks annually at the Congressional Pediatric Cancer Caucus, and serves on the Patient and Family Advisory Council at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Her family’s story is featured in national media and the forthcoming documentary Saving Sophie: The Road to a Cure.
Together, Tracy and Sophie are helping redefine what’s possible in the fight against cancer—for one family, and for families everywhere.
