Tom Osman MEng (Hons) CEng Shaily

Tom has been working with Shaily since 2008 and, in 2024, transitioned to a full-time role leading the technical aspects of our Innovation, Research, and Development division. His mission is not only to deliver world-class products but also to expand and elevate the scope, speed, and quality of services Shaily provides to its customers. With over two decades of experience in design consultancy, including nine years running his own firm, Tom brings a wealth of expertise to the table. He has a proven track record of designing and developing complex mechanisms from concept to production and commercial launch. His portfolio spans collaborations with renowned clients such as Sanofi, Speedo, Aston Martin, and even Queen Elizabeth II. In addition to his work at Shaily, Tom is an Honorary Assistant Professor at the University of Birmingham and a valued member of the Industrial Advisory Board for their School of Engineering, where he contributes to shaping the future of the engineering profession.
