Stefan Scheler Novartis Pharmaceutical Manufacturing GmbH

Stefan Scheler studied pharmacy at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (Germany), where he also received his PhD in pharmaceutical technology. After five years specializing in clinical pharmacy and managing an industrial development laboratory, he continued his academic career for six years at the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Jena (Germany). While maintaining the proximity to academic research, he moved back to industry. After several laboratory and group leader positions at Sandoz GmbH, Austria, in the formulation of small molecule drugs, he turned his attention to the development of biopharmaceutical drug dosage forms. In parallel, he completed his habilitation in the field of micro- and nanoparticulate drug delivery systems, which he had started in Jena. Since 2018, he has held a professorship for Pharmaceutical Technology and Biopharmacy at the Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences (Germany) and works at the same time as an Associate Director in parenteral device development at Novartis Pharmaceutical Manufacturing GmbH (Langkampfen, Austria).
