Orla McCarthy MPharm Merck Sharp & Dohme

Orla McCarthy, MPharm, is currently an Associate Principal Scientist International CMC EU/EEMEA at Merck Sharp & Dohme. Since 2023, Orla is responsible for developing EU and EMEA market CMC strategies to support original marketing application registrations and post approval changes for a vaccine franchise. She has particular interest in regulatory harmonisation, reliance pathways and accelerating patient access. Prior to this she has worked in various regulatory CMC roles within MSD since 2016, with specific focus on external manufacturing networks, sterile drug product manufacturing and Bio and Vaccines product support. A pharmacist by education, Orla has previously worked in affiliate regulatory affairs positions and as a community pharmacist.
