Ong Mei Horng ARTC Head of Biomedical Manufacturing Pillar

Dr Ong Mei Horng is currently the Director and Head of Biomedical Manufacturing (Pharma, BioPharma and MedTech) Pillar in Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre (ARTC) after successfully leading the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Pillar since 2018. Dr Ong has been instrumental in bridging the gap between R&D and real-world application, helping to transform R&D and businesses while mentoring the next generation of leaders. Her deep expertise gained from over 30 years of working experience for companies like Nestlé, Mars, Cadbury, F&N and Vitasoy in Europe, Oceania and Asia. 

Dr Ong is also an Adjunct Professor in Food Science & Technology Department, Faculty of Science, NUS and her long-term involvement as a part time lecturer for the MSc Food Science and Human Nutrition course and nurturing University students to be future proof leaders.

Prof Ong also serves as Technical Advisor for USA Soy Export Council (USSEC), Innovation Advisor for IPI and WSG Volunteer Career Advisor.

Prof Ong graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) from King’s College, University of London and obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Nottingham in England.
