Maite Harguindeguy, M. Sc. Politecnico di Torino
As a PhD candidate, Maite Harguindeguy has been conducting relevant research on the use of an infrared (IR) sensor for monitoring and design of freeze-drying processes.
Her initial studies verified the applicability and representativity of such sensor applied to freeze-drying batches and then as an alternative tool for design space obtention. Her latest studies include the application of IR monitoring during the freezing stage providing new insights on the freezing process. Her great presentation skills rendered her a couple prizes.
She won the second place in the First Student Contest on Drying from the European Federation of Chemical Engineering and as a finalist in the “My Research in 3 minutes” contest from Politecnico di Torino, her home institution.
