Luciana Costa PhD Fiocruz/Bio-Manguinhos

Luciana Veloso is graduated in Pharmacy and Microbiology, MSc in Management, Research and Development in Pharmaceutical Industry and PhD in Sciences. Professional with 20 years’ experience in Quality Control, being 8 years in multinational pharmaceutical companies such as Merck, Abbott and Roche as a Quality Control analyst. For 2 years, she worked with Microbiological Control at Farmanguinhos/Fiocruz. She has worked at Bio-Manguinhos/Fiocruz microbiological quality control lab for 10 years, working mostly with microorganism identification using methodologies such as VITEK®2, MALDI-TOF MS and 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Since 2021, she has worked with the development of new methodologies for microorganism identification and typing; graduate and Pos-graduate students mentoring; and teaches Quality Control related disciplines in Post-graduation Programs.
