Kathryn Landes BioNTech

Kathryn Landes is the Vice President of Global Product Quality at BioNTech. As an established Quality leader in the Biotech industry, Kathy is pioneering a Product Quality organization to provide strategic quality vision for BioNTech. She has been employed with BioNTech since 2020 when the company acquired Neon Therapeutics, where she was overseeing cancer vaccines and cell therapies as a Senior Director leading both GCP and GMP Quality Assurance. Before joining Neon Therapeutics in December 2018, Kathy served as Associate Director of Quality Assurance for Alnylam, where she was instrumental in the launch of the first commercial siRNA product. Kathy led both external and internal manufacturing quality teams, set up quality systems, and implemented contract manufacturing risk assessments to support commercial product viability. Kathy also thrived at Genzyme/Sanofi for 17 years, where she successfully managed a site Quality Control Microbiology department and then moved to the External Quality Assurance department. Kathy also served as a Microbiology subject matter expert within the broader Sanofi organization and acted as technical lead on Genzyme’s Corporate Quality standards. Kathy graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and is driven by her passion for getting safe, efficacious products to patients worldwide. .
