Karthick Murugappan MSD Scientist
Dr. Karthick Murugappan is a Senior Scientist at MSD, where he is an integral part of the global Process Analytical Technology (PAT) Centre of Excellence (COE) team. In this capacity, he serves as the primary liaison between the COE and MSD manufacturing sites in Singapore, ensuring the successful transfer and implementation of PAT methods for the rapid release testing of new drug products.
Karthick is also instrumental in developing, validating, and implementing advanced multivariate models for real-time process monitoring, which significantly enhances early fault detection across MSD sites. His expertise in multivariate data analysis supports critical product investigations and aids in identifying root causes of process-related issues, thereby driving continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
Karthick holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
