Dr. Jason Kralj has co-chaired the NIST Rapid Microbial Testing Methods Consortium's Interlaboratory Studies Working Group for 4 years, which assesses available materials and methods for rapid sterility testing of CGT products. In addtion, he has lead the pathogen detection program at NIST for the last 10 years, focusing on assessing performance in metagenomics-based technologies and developing reference materials to support molecular diagnostics for pathogen detection. He is currently establishing a new microbial strain collection aimed at the rigorous characterization of strains to support bioeconomy initiatives and foster both internal and external collaborations.
