Bruce Yu PhD University of Maryland School of Pharmacy Professor

Dr. Bruce Yu is a professor at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy and a fellow of the Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology Research. Dr. Yu has conducted research in biophysics, imaging agents, and biomaterials. His current focus is on noninvasive analytic technologies for pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality control. He and his coworkers developed the water nuclear magnetic relaxometry (wNMR) technology and proposed the concept of Preventive Pharmacovigilance (Pharmaceutical Research, 40, 2103, 2023). He received the 2004 Kimmel Scholar Award and the 2005 US Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers. He has a Ph.D. in biophysics from the Johns Hopkins University.
