Dr. Bin Yang is a Senior Scientist and a group leader in Process Virology at Genentech, a Member of the Roche Group.
In his current position, Dr. Yang is responsible for the design and execution of virus clearance studies to support the viral safety of CHO-derived biologics from phase I clinical trials through marketed application licensure. He is also interested in virus clearance technology development and research. He has published 8 first- or co-author publications in the field, including collaborations with FDA and EMA.
Previously, he worked on adeno-associated virus (AAV) based gene therapy on lysosomal storage disease at Avigen, Inc.
Dr. Yang received his Master Degree in Molecular Pharmacology working on HBV from Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences in Beijing, and his Ph.D. in Molecular Physiology/Biochemistry from University of Iowa College of Medicine. Dr. Yang conducted his post-doctoral work at Stanford University School of Medicine.
