AJ Troiano, Ph.D. FUJIFILM Lifesciences Biotechnologies Director of Biosafety and Toxicology
Dr. Troiano serves on FUJIFILM Lifesciences Biotechnologies (FLB) global team as the Director of Biosafety and Toxicology. Joining in 2022, AJ oversees patient and worker safety operations across 7 drug manufacturing campuses and best describes his role as a “safety diplomat.” His core belief relies in balancing pragmatic risk management solutions with efficient operational strategies, blending strong grassroots efforts with stakeholder accountability across quality, environmental health and safety (EHS), scientific, and operations verticals. Before joining FLB, AJ worked in various capacities as a biorisk management consultant in the Greater Boston, MA area as well as domestically across the United States. He received his B.S. in Microbiology and Classics from the University of New Hampshire, a PhD in Biomedical Science with a concentration in Molecular Biology and Biophysics from the University of Connecticut Health Center and a M.S. in Clinical Toxicology through the University of Florida. A registered biosafety professional with the American Biological Safety Association International (ABSA), he chaired the prestigious Scientific Program Committee from 2019 to 2024 and is heavily involved in their regional affiliates around the United States.
