How does your normal day begin?
I work in Product Quality Management within the pharmaceutical sector of J&J. My role entails end to end quality oversight of an assigned portfolio of products. Each day is different, I start the day with reviewing emails from my global colleagues and plan the day and week accordingly.

What do you love most about your job?
I love interacting with so many people of different cultures. Every day, I am continuously learning because of the variety and nature of my work.

Do you have any productivity tips that help you through the working day?
One tip I got from a Microsoft outlook training course is to turn off the email notifications thus allowing me to focus on long term items.

Favourite staycation destination in Ireland and why?
Johnstown, Kilmichael, Co Cork – I spent my youth there on holidays visiting family and love the tranquillity of the countryside, the views of the mountains. It is a perfect base for walking with Gougane Barra Forest Park being a stone throw away.

Favourite holiday destination worldwide?
Paris in the winter. We first went on honeymoon to Paris so many years ago and have returned so many times. It is a beautiful city with many activities like walking in a park, a trip on Seine or a visit to the museums. I recommend buying clothes in Saint-Germain-des-Prés as a must do experience.

Has your PDA network helped you in any way?
I found the PDA technical reports as good resource when I was a QP for aseptic manufacture. The conferences and interacting with other PDA members is a great opportunity for connecting and benchmarking on industry practices.

In J&J, we have guiding principles, referred to as the CREDO, for conducting business. One line relating to the patients and all who use our products strikes a chord with me – ‘In meeting their needs everything we do must be of high quality’
