About the Author
Ann Marie Dixon-Heathman is owner and President of Cleanroom Management Associates, Inc., a
consulting firm based in Carson City, NV that specializes in competitive benchmarking, training, and
auditing of clean and aseptic operations and management.
She has been actively engaged in the field of contamination control for over 40 years with extensive
experience in the areas of cleanroom operations, training, technical writing, strategic consulting,
facility start-up, construction protocols, and process optimization. She has as trained over 1,000,000
cleanroom technicians and managers.
Anne Marie's major accomplishments include developing and testing cleanroom sanitization
protocols. She is current Chairman of the Institute of Environmental Sciences — Recommended Practice
on Cleanroom Housekeeping and Sanitization Procedures (RP-18), Operations (RP-26) and Controlled
Environments (RP-49). She has developed aseptic gowning techniques and equipment move-in
procedures. Anne Marie has developed an undergraduate course in cleanroom maintenance and
equipment installation techniques which is used today at five major universities in the USA. She is
head of the United States Delegation to ISO Technical Committee 209 on Cleanrooms and Associated
Controlled Environments. She is the current Chair of ISO TC 209 — Nanotechnology Cleanroom and
Controlled Environment — WG-10.
Anne Marie has won many awards, most recently the 2013 IEST President Award. She has a BS in
Finance from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Chicago. She also has a BS
in Engineering from the University of Nevada and is Certified ISO 9000 Auditor — University of
Nevada.
Anne Marie has published over 13 books and contributed over 450 technical articles.
