PDA and HighWire Press Launch Project for Online PDA Journal 20 March, 2009

Bethesda, Md. - PDA and HighWire Press officially began a partnership to create a new, modern online experience for the readers of its 63-year-old PDA Journal of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology.

A Letter of Agreement is now in place between the two organizations, and work is underway to launch the new website by mid-summer.

PDA and HighWire Press are set to work closely in the coming months to ensure the new PDA Journal website launches without a hitch. The website will be built from a HighWire Press template, which have a solid track record with a number of other HighWire Press journal partners.

PDA has selected a number of features that will add value for the PDA membership, including RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds and Microsoft PowerPoint downloads. RSS feeds benefit readers who want to subscribe to timely updates from the Journal website. The PowerPoint download tool will allow readers to easily create slides of graphics in Journal articles, complete with the appropriate copyright information. The site will be fully searchable, and access to an online archive will be available.

PDA is targeting a July 15 launch date for the new Journal website. In the meantime, articles for the 2009 volume year will be available at www.pda.org/journal for PDA members. Non-members interested in purchasing access to individual articles can continue to do so at www.pda.org/bookstore.
