p>Due to recent glass packaging quality issues and recalls related to defects and/or incompatibilities with finished products over the shelf life, pharmaceutical manufacturers and glass suppliers have recognized that improvements are needed in glass packaging and glass handling practices throughout the product life cycle. Industry and global regulatory authorities came to this meeting and discussed topics such as product recalls, the global regulatory perspective/expectations of both the glass supplier and product manufacturer and they reviewed the results of an industry survey on glass packaging.
A Commercial Director of a glass supplier said during the event: “We came to this event to learn. You all are our customers…and I can assure everybody here that we are going to go back and reassess how we do business, listening to you our customers.”
