Pharmaceutical Cold Chain Interest Group (PCCIG)
Members of the PDA Pharmaceutical Cold Chain Interest Group (PCCIG) share a common interest in science, engineering, and business of Good Cold Chain Practices including Good R&D Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Storage Practices, and Good Distribution Practices. The PCCIG steering committee and Science Advisory Board oversee the deliverables of any PCCIG-sponsored task forces, conducts gap analyses of current cold chain practices, global regulatory and pharmacopoeia expectations and best industry practices.
The PCCIG, through its sponsored task forces develops projects, trains and educates on handling, storage and distribution of temperature-controlled medicinal products through appropriate scientific, trade, standard setting organizations, and regulatory agencies. PCCIG members also contribute to PDA conferences and workshops on the subject.
PCCIG members exchange current industry practice, institutional research, ideas and information on global handling, storage and distribution of temperature-controlled medicinal products (including active pharmaceutical ingredients, final product, clinical product, reference standards and other temperature sensitive components). This includes networking with pharmaceutical manufacturers, supplier-partners, academia, and other interested groups on this topic through PDA sponsored activities.
