Best Practices in Building Successful and Effective Partnerships with CMOs,
Milton Boyer, CEO of SCA Pharmaceuticals
Milton Boyer is currently CEO of SCA Pharmaceuticals, a nationally recognized FDA 503B outsourcing facility specializing in providing the highest quality sterile admixture services and pre-filled oral syringes to hospital pharmacies. SCA provides these services across all therapeutic areas of pharmacy including critical care, labor and delivery, anesthesia, and pain management. The company is opening a new 90,000 ft² sterile mfg facility in Windsor, CT this fall.
Pharmaceutical and Biotech companies are increasingly relying on outsourced resources to execute research, development and manufacturing activities. These are all critical activities to the success of the sponsor company. How do you ensure that you have an effective partnership with your outsourcing partner? Milton Boyer will share his CMO perspective on this topic based on his 25 years of experience in the API and DP Contract Manufacturing business.
On Time and Within Budget, Make Friends and Even Have Fun While Outsourcing,
Paul Woitach, Managing Partner of Pharmaceutical Advisors LLC
Paul Woitach is Managing Partner of Pharmaceutical Advisors LLC, a firm that helps plan and manage outsourced development while managing infrastructure. Paul helped found the practice in 2001 within Solutia and he was part of the group that acquired the practice from Solutia in 2005. Prior to Solutia, he led a turnaround as CEO of the public company that is now Telligent. Before that, he was General Manager for scientific instrument leader Mettler Toledo and was a Vice President with Kodak's $2B Health Imaging Division. Mr. Woitach has served on the Boards of public companies and on the Advisory Boards of the NJEDA Center for Commercialization of Innovative Technology and the Hackensack University Medical Center Life Sciences Institute.
The presentation and discussion will share tips and insights for helping attendees to keep outsourced development and manufacturing off the critical path. Included will be insights for managing expectations across your organization, tools for shrinking lead-times and gaining speed where possible as well as often overlooked technical and business considerations to protect you as well as the CMO. The program will offer some useful checklists as well. Whether experienced or just getting started, attendees should be able to take away some actionable information that can be put to use the next day.
