Dr. Khot has over thirteen years’ experience working with microbial diagnostics spanning Environmental Monitoring and Clinical Microbiology. During this period, he has successfully led numerous projects to develop, optimize and implement microbial diagnostic assays using MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, nucleic acid amplification, and biochemical techniques in regulated environments.
Currently, as a Senior Staff Scientist with Charles River’s Accugenix services, he is responsible for leading the technical efforts of microbial identification based on MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, and, providing scientific support to other microbial diagnostic products and services.
Dr. Khot earned his PhD from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in molecular diagnostics of Infectious Diseases at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle. Before joining Charles River, he worked as a Research Scientist for the Clinical Microbiology Division at ARUP Laboratories, Salt Lake City (a national clinical and anatomic pathology reference laboratory).
