Oliver Valet PhD mibiC GmbH & Co. KG

Oliver is a physical chemist by training and a passionate serial entrepreneur. After completing his Ph.D. in Nanotechnology and Electrochemistry at the Free University of Berlin, he co-founded rap.ID. Over 20 years, he shaped and sold several Raman, LIBS, and Interferometry instruments, which have been instrumental in forensic investigations and ensuring the quality of respiratory and nasal formulations, biopharmaceuticals, pre-filled syringes, combustion engines, and other complex high-tech products vulnerable to particulate matter. Oliver gained a deep understanding of cGMP, including method development and validation, by operating two FDA-registered and inspected laboratories in Berlin HQ and Princeton, NJ, USA. In 2018, rap.ID was successfully sold to Unchained Labs. In the same year, Oliver co-founded mibiC, where he has been shaping the Raman & Epi-fluorescence GramRay platform. He has led the development of three generations of Raman-based single microbe rapid sterility, bioburden, and environmental monitoring testing instruments. These cutting-edge GramRay instruments provide rapid and precise microbial identification, significantly enhancing sterility assurance, bioburden monitoring, and environmental monitoring protocols. Proof of principle studies have been performed for monoclonal antibodies, cell and gene therapy, and process water testing, as well as ultra-fast tomato spoilage detection, delivering results within hours instead of days.
