PDA’s Universe of Pre-filled Syringes and Injection Devices
Bethesda, Md. – As the nation begins the first phase of health care reform, we have the responsibility to deliver safe, cost effective and user friendly products to society. Pre-filled syringes and injector devices are at the forefront of meeting these needs and there has been a trend towards accelerated adoption of these devices in the past five years.
The keynote address at PDA’s Universe of Pre-filled Syringes and Injection Devices will be given by Debra R. Lappin, JD, President, Council for American Medical Innovation and will address the intimate relationship among the national health policy, the urgent medical needs and what roles injection devices and innovation could and should play.
Donna French, PhD, Senior Director, Injection Device Development, Genentech, Inc. will speak on, “Commercialization of Injection Devices: Applying Industry Lessons Learned,” Carole Langlois, Product Manager & Business Development Aseptic Transfer Systems & Drug Delivery Systems, Sartorius Stedim Biotech S.A. will give the poster presentation, “Enhanced Sterility Assurance in Aseptic Processing: Biosafe Aseptic Transfer Systems,” and two speakers from the Terumo Corporation will discuss “Plastic Pre-filled Syringe Systems for Biopharmaceuticals – Japanese Experience.”
Additional session topics include quality issues and infrastructure for supporting the franchise, new technologies and trends in manufacturing processes for components and form-fill and regulatory and compliance issues.
