The Pharmaceutical Cold Chain Interest Group (PCCIG) will document the science, engineering, and business of Good Cold Chain Practices that includes Good R&D Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Storage Practices, and Good Distribution Practices. The steering committee will conduct a gap analysis of current cold chain practices, global regulatory and pharmacopoeia expectations and best industry practices. The PCCIG will develop and be involved in training and education for handling, storage and distribution of temperature-controlled medicinal products through appropriate scientific, trade and regulatory organizations. The PCCIG members will exchange current industry practice, institutional research, ideas and information on global handling, storage and distribution of temperature-controlled medicinal products (including active pharmaceutical ingredients, final product, clinical product, reference standards and other temperature sensitive components). This includes networking with pharmaceutical manufacturers, supplier-partners, academia, and other interested groups on this topic.
