TRI is the PDA Training and Research Institute. TRI provides hands-on, intensive, job-focused training you can bring home and apply immediately on the job. Our mission is to establish unprecedented worldwide education, training and applied research in pharmaceutical sciences and associated technologies. As industry trends change, we evaluate our curriculum, continually updating and adding courses to provide the most current information in both our laboratory and lecture sessions.

TRI is located just north of Washington DC, in Bethesda, Maryland.

TRI is easily reached by three airports: Washington Dulles International (IAD), Baltimore Washington International (BWI) and Reagan National Airport (DCA) and by train via Union Station, Washington DC TRI is located just two blocks east of the Bethesda Metro station.
TRI offers two types of courses: Laboratory and Lecture. Laboratory courses are typically offered at the PDA Training and Research Institute in Bethesda, Maryland and reinforces material learned in the classroom with practical hands-on training in the laboratory. TRI’s lecture courses are offered at the facility in Bethesda, as well as all over the world, both in conjunction with PDA conferences, and as stand alone courses. PDA TRI’s courses focus on its core competencies: sterile processing; microbiology; quality assurance and quality control; etc.

You can register for courses three ways, by fax, mail or online. When you select a course, please register online by clicking on the link at the course information page. Or, you may submit your registration form along with payment information by fax or postal mail. Once your payment has been received and processed, you will receive a confirmation via e-mail from the PDA registrar.

If you don’t receive this confirmation, you may contact the registrar at 301-656-5900 ext 115.

If you have registered for a course and can no longer attend, you must notify us in writing (e-mails not accepted) at least 4 weeks prior to the start of the event to receive a refund less a $200 processing fee (NOTE: If written notice is not received at least 4 weeks prior to the event  (60 days 2009 Aseptic Training Sessions), your registration fees can not be refunded) If you cannot attend, but would like to send a substitute, please complete another registration form individual replacing you, and mark the box “Substituting for”. For the full cancellation and refund policy, please refer to the course registration form. 
Because you will be working in a laboratory for significant portion of the course, please wear comfortable clothing. Appropriate clothing in the laboratory setting would include pants or slacks and closed-toe shoes. Please do not wear open-toed shoes, sandals, high heels, ties, skirts, shorts, or extremely baggy attire. Out of safety concerns, please secure long hair away from the face and keep jewelry to a minimum. 
All courses begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted on the confirmation letter or in course information posted on the website or in the course brochures. Courses that are listed with a half day will end at approximately noon on the last day. Please arrive at your course location approximately thirty minutes before the start of the course to register and receive your course materials. Please be sure to bring your confirmation letter as proof of registration during check-in. TRI will not allow persons to attend a course without payment, or guarantee of payment.
PDA will provide continental breakfast and lunch every full day during a course. Snacks and beverages will be available during all breaks.  For courses that are listed with a half day, lunch will not be provided on the final day. Please indicate any dietary restrictions on the registration form and PDA will make every effort to meet these requirements.
The PDA Training and Research Institute is approved by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Participants may sign up for CEUs following the successful completion of an accredited course and submission of the course evaluation form.
