The SIFDS/PDA Shanghai Joint Development Center (SHJDC)
was established in order to enhance quality in China's pharmaceutical manufacturing, to improve pharmaceutical technology and quality control, to achieve international standards in pharmaceutical manufacturing and to boost the expertise of supervision in China. SHFDA acknowledges and supports the cooperation between PDA and the Shanghai Institute for Food and Drug Safety(SIFDS) and establishes SIFDS/PDA Shanghai Joint Development Center (SHJDC)in 2008.

The main functions of SHJDC include:

1.1 Assisting in meetings and training.
1.2 Assisting PDA in the development of training for China's relevant regulatory staff at the PDA headquarters.
1.3 Promoting PDA recruitment of members in China and expanding PDA's influence in China.
1.4 Introducing updated information related to international laws and regulations, the latest technical standards, and providing these to the relevant Chinese government departments or Companies/enterprises.
1.5 As authorized by the PDA translating PDA documents.
1.6 Development of the fee system jointly with PDA and SHFDA to assist PDA in promotion of various technical reports.
